Jefferson Elementary School Reviews

There is not a lot of parent involvement. The staff and principal are wonderful and supportive. There are 2 opportunities for After School Care.

We were very pleased with the education that our child received. Our child spent kindergarten and half of first grade at this school before moving to a new state. Her teachers in both grades were EXCELLENT! The school staff was friendly the principal was a little stand-offish but overall because of the excellent teachers we had a good experience.

Unfortunately, I believe Jefferson Elementary was a big disappointment the last year. I was unhappy with the quality of the work produced and the lack of teacher instruction. This will be my sons last year with Jefferson and I plan on providing him with a tutor just so he won t get behind in starting the sixth grade. I wished that they had a music program or after school activities for the children to participate in. I believe that that would allow the children to take pride in those activities, school spirit and even class work. They do however have several exceptional teachers, but because they are few and far between, its does nothing for the child when they go onto the next grade.

Unfair disciplinary practices; slower classroom rate--if your child learns fast, he'll become bored here.

Jefferson elementary school has a wonderful principal and dedicated teachers. However, the school itself is filthy, the bathrooms smell terrible and everything is covered with years of grime and dust.

My daughter has been going to Jefferson Elementary since Kindergarten. I have always had support and the school has made being a single parent alot easiler. The 6 to 6 program is the best

My 10 year old has been at this school since 2000, and my 7 year old has been here since kindergarden. As far as public schools go, it is probably one of the better ones. We had alot of problems with the principal who recently retired, and the safety on-campus, but since the new principal started, all of that has been resolved. They have an excellent 6 to 6 program, and wonderful, open-minded teachers (for the most part). Both our boys are ADHD, and we had some problems with the principal/counselor when our oldest was in 1st grade, but again, all of this has resolved since that principal retired.
