I think that the teachers are great and very nurturing and allow students to feel comfortable expressing themselves and they encourage independent thinkers. I also love the diversity of the school and that the students are aware and accepting of different cultures because it is discussed in the learning environment.

AEACS was one of my best choices I made regarding schools. My three kids, one in elementary, one in middle and the oldest went on to High School are Einstein Academy students. They are very happy there and love their teachers. Each of them has the chance to excell to their abilities. Einstein Academy is the best!!! Thank you

I really love aeacs for a lot of reasons. Here are just a few: the involvement of the parents gives ity a feel of a private school without the expense, the principals are exceptional people for both elementary and middle school, the teachers are whole hearted available and passionate about this programm and the kids , all in all you can feel a heart there. There is much more to rave about Albert Einstein Academies and these are advantages all kids will have that have to do with the future opportunities for the kids. But that has to do for now.

Albert Einstien Academy is a wonderful school with an wesome german program
This review was posted by a other.

I love Albert Einstein Academy. It is filled with teachers who really care and make a difference in our children's lives. My children have been at the school for the past 5 years and they love it. The possibility of having dual German language immersion and also being in an IB school is just a fabulous opportunity for my children. They are socially and academically well balanced. I'm proud and relieved that my children can express their international heritage and be global citizens, which is also very much encouraged and supported at Albert Einstein Academies. Despite all the awesome programs offered, the icing on the cake for me is the expanding PE program. That is simply wonderful that the children are introduced to sports and fitness at a young age which is a vital element in staying balanced. Thanks Albert Einstein Academies and keep up the good work!

I love Einstien Academy because it teaches all the academic basics with good citizenship. It gives my second grade granddaughter the opportunity to learn her ancestral language and my middle-school grandson a place to learn and grow in a friendly, supportive environment, without a lot of destructive peer pressure.

We have great teachers staff and parents who really put in the extra effort for our kids !!!

I love AEACs because my children are learning German, they already know Spanish, and of course English. Another thing that I like it, is that the school is very close to us and the children can go until 8th grade.

Because the staff, the studens and the parents are the perfect combination for an excellent environment to learn.

Every time I'm on campus, I feel the difference at the school. The atmosphere is filled with this love of learning about and preserving our planet, while the students remain stedfast on their work and education. They truly are professional students, ok, sometimes they revert back to being kids on a playground, but overall they are great kids who make an effort to improve their generation's possibilities! And it all begins with e-d-u-c-a-t-i-o-n!! The next time you're with your kids please don't forget to let them know how very important they are to you!! That is really the only way to grow love!

Albert Einstein Academy Charter School is one of only two school in the country that offers the IB Certified language immersion program in German. Not only are they an accomplished organization that provides a higher level of education, they are also accessible by all students in the San Diego School District. Because they are a charter school, it allows student of all level and backgrounds access to attend. This is great because this higher level of education is not limited to a students financial status or social status. The school has an active exchange program and intership program that brings in German intern teachers from Germany to spend a semester or school year working at the school teaching the German and tutoring students in German as well. Most of the German Teachers are natives of Germany. The students have also been actively learning Spanish. The school promotes good morals and respect among students and has a well established structure of conflict resolution. By having a strict uniform policy, they allow student to focus on education and not what the latest styles are. Despite the demanding curriculum, AEACS students rank among the top students in the state level testing. With the decline in education funding, I really appreciate AEACS and how they encourage parents and students to get involved with the structure of the programs and activities in the school. For any parent who wants their child to be challenged and get a head start on learning about different cultures and languages, it is a great school for their 'Little Einstein' to attend.

Albert Einstein Academy School is like a private school. We have the most dedicated and involved parents and staff of any school that I have been involved with. I have watched as the school has evolved and grown and during that time there have been some difficult and sometimes course changing decisions that have to be made. They have always made the right choices even when it involved a harder path. There is a culture of caring and understanding in this school that comes from the top and carries through the staff to the students. I cannot recommend this school highly enough.

Albert Einstein Academy was an answer to a prayer for us. Our neighborhood had the very wost school in all of San Diego, and we actually had considered moving out of our beautiful historic neighborhood because of this. Thankfully, Albert Einstein moved into a facility just 6 blocks from our home the very year our daughter started kindergarten! Just before that point, we had been planning to drive all the way across town to bring our child to a Spanish emersion school. Einstein is a German emersion school, so now our children (two now), learn German. We are thrilled that our kids are learning a second language and being exposed to other cutures, and we could not be happier with and prouder of our school. Our kids learn so much, and so do we! All of the families are extremely involved with the school and participate in most of the activities. It's a pleasure to help out on campus, because we know it's the least we can do to support the excellent education our children are getting FOR FREE!: )

The German language immersion system is excellent! My grandson loves his teachers and his attitude towards school has improved since he is attending Albert Einstein Academy. Improvements in his German skills are already apparent after 3 weeks. The leaders of AEA have been very active to obtain a decent location, in spite of financial and political obstacles.

A wonderful educational community where teachers truly commit to the students and families. Excellence is standard and academic success is a given for all students. One of the best academic institutions unparalleled in its quality.

I love Einstein Academy because they are dedicated to providing excellent education to the children. The students get to go on great field trips (such as to the zoo, the theatre, Balboa Park, etc.) Which enhances their learning on a particular subject. The teachers are so wonderful and really care about the success of the students. Of course, I love that my daughter is learning a second language. I am very impressed at her german speaking and reading ability over the 2 years she has attended Einstein.

I love their IB program and the way the kids learn. The teachers are never too lazy to come up with new innovative ideas to motivate the kids' studies.

Einstein is better than standard schools because they have the ability to provide and inovative curriculum.
This review was posted by a parent.

It's simply one of a kind in San Diego with its global IB curriculum and dual german language immersion across subjects by native teachers to its music, arts, award winning physical fitness programs, after school programs, int'l. gardens, unparalleled field trips like to the symphony, or the best bakery and to Germany in middle school to monthly Parent University. Planning and experience shows as everything is so well thought out. It's quality in every aspect. There are so many areas to be involved improving where it doesn't seem the bar can get any higher making all the difference. Through the curriculum, programs, staff and volunteers, this school shows that all the best and more is possible for all.

This is our 3rd year at Albert Einstein. This is our daughter is in middle school. She comes home every day with a story to tell. I have 2 kids that attend Albert Einstein. I have one in elementary the other in middle. I travel 11 miles each day to take my kids to a school they love! The teachers care, the parents care, and so does the rest of staff. We are all made up of parents all over San Diego County who want something better for our kids.
This review was posted by a parent.

We have the best school in the San Diego area, with a German immersion program and the International Baccalaurete, we have one of the most complete programs we could ever wish for. The great divversity that the school has (more than 14 languages spoken, people from everywhere in the world) being bilingual is just a common thing, a lot of our kids speak three languages and in some cases 4. All that without saying that our teachers are 110% committed to their job and go the extra mile to help the children excell. I drive 14 miles each way every day twice a day and some times 4 times but it is worth it!

The teachers are exceptional! The physical education department is one of the best I have seen. The administration knows all of the students by name, and welcomes them every morning. This is one of the few schools in San Diego with art, and music. We also have a garden for students to work in. We are one of the few schools with small class size remaining, after the budget crisis. The atmosphere on the campus is warm and welcoming to parents and students.

Einstein Academy sets the standard with a innovative, young and energetic staff that strives for excellence in education. They inspire their students by teaching them to learn with a global perspective in mind and see beyond their own world views.
This review was posted by a parent.

The teachers are caring and dedicated! In addition to teaching reading, writing and arithmetic, they also teach our children about the world, other cultures, music and art, and how to be caring, compassionate, involved, respectful and responsible human beings. The dual language immersion component is fantastic. Yes, it is definitely challenging. However, it is not for everyone: If you don't want your child to be immersed in another language then this is not the school for you. I think some of the negative comments come from people who find that the language immersion is not a good fit for their kids. And yes, like any school there is some bureaucracy, but there is always the opportunity for parents to be inovled and effect change and improvements!!

Love this school. Dd finds having two teachers more exciting. Love that she is becoming fluent in a second language. Organic garden on site. Also, love that their an IB school and really focus on the global community.

AEA not only has a full curriculum including Art, Music, PE, German and English immersion, the teachers really love to go to school there, and so do the children. I talked to many teachers before deciding which school to send my daughter to, and the teachers at AEA were the only ones that sounded enthusiastic about their school - and it shows.

I have watched AEA grow over the past 5 years since my 3 sons have attended. The passion that the staff and teachers have for teaching flows to the children every day. The German immursion opens the kids minds in way we do not fully appreciate. The children really feel like they are part of something bigger and enjoy there time at school. They are not just a number at a teaching factory. The parent pledge for volunteering their time shows the children that their parents really care. When you walk on campus, or attend an event, you feel welcome. That's why my 3 sons go there!

My daughter loves this school, even though the homework is a challenge for her. This school is one that truely challenges children to think beyond basic textbook lessons. It also upholds strong values of respect for others and their world, as well as a sense of responsbility.

It has been such a great experience for us because the teachers, parents, and students are very involved in making Albert Einstein a great success. The community involvement is exciting at AEA! The parents really rally behind the teachers and help the students have an enriching experience at the school. All the different programs the kids can be involved in, the volunteer opportunities that teach our children that giving back is a special gift. Despite the fact that they are focussed on one language, they are all-inclusive of other cultures. Diversity, both in race and socio-economic status, provides my child with a truly great environment, reflecting real life already in young years. The principals and teachers never tire to find ways to improve the curriculum. The entire family is being addressed in the effort to provide the best education for the children. Despite the current budget cuts, the academy's administration still manages to provide a great variety of art, music, and sports. I am very confident, that I made the right choice when I registered my child at AEACS. Kudos to all that work there!

Albert Einstein is a school which is developmentally appropriate, balanced approach to education that integrates the arts of languages and academics for children from k-8th grade.

My son just started Kindergarten at AEA this Fall. Having spent time in Germany, I am excited that he will continue to learn German. I look forward to him learning Spanish as well when he is older. I have been already impressed with the friendliness, openness, diversity and professionalism of the teachers and students! It amazes me that in this era of school budget cuts, the school works hard to provide 'extras' such as P.E., music, art and time in the library.

Great teachers, great immersion and IB program. Have two kids going there and we love it!

In a year of budget constraints, Albert Einstein put the kids first and worked WITH the parents to trim while keeping standards high and preserving language, culture and the arts in the school. This school is doing a tremendous job at bringing international resources to a diverse group of students.

There are so many things to appreciate about AEACS. First of all we love the 50 % German Immersion Program. Our child's been enrolled since K. She just entering Middle School and not only does she still enjoy going and learning everyday, she's fluent in German... That's what we like most.

Best school ever! ;0) our kids love it which is most important to see them excited in the morning going to school. Having spent some time with the teachers I'm very impressed the overall teaching philosophy and the projects that gets the kids involved and excited. It is great that our kids have the ability to learn different languages and I like the fact that the school is less focused on religious topics that you see at other institutions.

I love the cool, relaxed and un - snobbish environment , the teachers, who very much enjoy doing their job and transmit that joy to the students and finally I love the fact that my daughter can learn her dad's mother tongue without stressing too much about it but by having fun !

Einstein Academies celebrate and embrace diversity. They teach the children how to love to learn and how to learn in a more comprhensive way than any other program I have seen. The children are challenged to be responsible for their place in the world on every level. They end up having a very strong understanding of their place within their family units, school, communities, cities, country, and world. They learn to identify problems and proactively seek solutions. No doubt that these students will be the most capable leaders of our future.

We have two children in the school and I love the teachers! They are great and put alot of effort in their day to day teachings. I also am happy the school goes into middle school and will not have to transition my oldest to another school for several more years. Finally, it is awesome to see my child communicating with people visiting the US in german and be told that he speaks as if he was a native speaker. Why german? I don't know but it does make a big difference that children be fluent in other languages.

It is giving my kids a multi-cultural education without focusing only on the Mexican culture that is pre-dominent here, but also on others throughout the world. The school embraces learning languages early on while immersing the kids in the language in the classroom....this is the only and best way for them to learn. Great to see so much parent involvement as well - the parents actually do care about their kids education at this school!

The school has create a positive enviroment so that all students can learn. I have never met such a dedicated staff. On year, the staff decided to not accept raises but instead us the money to hire German tutors for kids who were struggling. My kids benefited from their generosity. I am very proud to be a part of such a great school.

We have had our children in AE since the beginning and have seen the school grow into a well rounded school and I am pleased with the hard work and parent participation.......

Great school. My child is learning so much, way more than she would from a public school. I love the fact that she is learning German and Spanish.

It's just the best school. Teachers are very dedicated. Students are treated with respect.

This school serves everyone, all segments of San Diego, and provides excellent education, extremely dedicated staff, and incredibly involved parents as part of a public school education. It's one of a kind.

Albert Einstein Academies Charter School is #1 in our family. I love our school!--the fact that all the kids wear uniforms so there is no clothing drama in the morning, the German immersion, the IB learning model, the spirit and commitment of the parents and grandparents, the teachers and administrators commitment to our children and the beautiful environment that our children are in all day. And the bonus: It's free and it's two blocks from my home. Yea AEACS!!!

The school teaches children to think out of the box and incorporates worldly concepts into their studies. This approach helps students better understand the world they live in and adopt a different mind set. It's a model for other schools emulate in an attempt to provide better education for our children.

the teachers are an awesome team and listen to each other and work thinks out, the students are so much better behaved than in a lot of school through positive encouragement!

I am constently amazed at the dedication not only the teachers have for the children but also the principal. Princioal Vaughn makes it her priority to stay out of her office and be inside the classrooms encouraging the students. The teachers have in the past given up their payraises in order to not cut programs. The participation of the parents is also extrodinery they have held fundraisers every year and amongst themselves have raised more then 6o thousand dollars each year. We also have the highest parent voulunter participation in the county. There are so many things to exhalt about this school and the most important is how happy my daughter is to wake up every morning and go to school. This summer we went on vacation and my daughter was so excited to make a journal to show to the principal. How she makes time to give each child such personal attention I dont know. I wouldnt want my daughter to go anywhere else

Albert Einstein Academy is an amazing school not just because both of my kids love going to school. It feels like getting a privat school education but without the price tag and best of all a very diverse group of students. We are truly blest to have found this great school.

My daughter not only learns her ABCs and 123s here, she learns them in both English and German. In addition to learning about San Diego and herself, my daughter is learning about the whole world and how the pieces fit together. I couldn't be more thrilled with her education at AEA.

While still better than 90% of public schools outside the money districts up north AEACS has slipped since its move downtown. The posts you read here about the governance are likely the work of the the rigid Haus-Frau army that has co-opted the spirit of this enterprise from the beginning. AEACS has continually lowered its standard and expectations in order to make compromises with the school board to continue growing at an unhealthy pace. The school has always had a problem with the practical difficulty of the many children who learn native German at home and yet are judged against their non-native speaking peers during grading. Is it a good school ? Yes. Does it have an administration that is willing to sacrifice what makes it special for expediency? You bet. Does it have an overbearing set of parents with an undeserved sense of ownership? Boy howdy!

We love AEA and are proud to be part of its community. Our daughter says that, 'every day feels like a half-day' and is engaged due to the german immersion component of her education there. This school is five stars in our book.

We couldn't be more pleased and satisfied with the education our daughter is getting at AEA. So I don't understand the negative posts. Those characterizations are so far off the mark that I wonder who these are referring to?! The Principals' doors are always open and issues are raised very timely to the Governance Council, which is made up of parents and teachers...and resolutions are efficient and effective. Much more so than you'll ever find in another public school! I think for those that want to be very involved with their child's education and want access and direct input into how the school is run, AEA is for them. Others need not apply!

My daughter attends Einstein Academy (elementary). I couldn't be happier with my daughter's teachers. There is both art and music (I don't understand the other poster who said there wasn't)... My daughter participates in art classes, both before and after school, in the school's 'Art Studio.' My home is filled with her creations. She has also learned the recorder and how to read music. As for a PE program, Einstein Academy is one of the few elementary schools I looked at that had a dedicated PE teacher, and my daughter loves his classes. It is true that parent donations are often asked - of money, matierials, & time. This may seem like too much for a parent coming from a traditional public school. As a charter school, though, Einstein Academy doesn't receive the same amount of funding and - in order to offer the great programs they do, needs parent support.

After struggling with our community school we are SO glad we switched to AEACS. The curriculum is excellent. The teachers are involved, engaged and knowledgeable. It is true that the rapid growth seems to be affecting the administration which in previous years was very responsive. I m sure the admin will rise to the challenge. Over all my children and I really appreciate the school.

Any school can have incredibly high test scores if they can put children on Academic Probation and then 'kick' them out if they are not succeeding. Instead of helping the children who struggle, this school simply gets rid of them so the school's 'image' is not affected by this.

The quality of the teachers and curriculum is outstanding. However the school is in danger of losing it's stellar marks due to a very poor and incompetent administration. The school has grown at a rapid pace and the new administration is losing sight of the original premise the school was founded on. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and donate money, but they are ultimately ignored if there is a problem. We are keeping our child in the school because we believe in the teachers and the concept of a dual language immersion program. We are hoping for the best that things will change as long as we keep involved.

We were looking for the right middle school, and with Albert Einstein we have found it! The classes are small (max.25) and the teachers are hip! As a parent,I can sit in at any class at anytime, that alone makes me feel welcome. There are lots of parents on campus volunteering. I like to see with whom my child is hanging out because I believe they are in a tough age. Also, the kids have a choice between taking German or Spanish. The open house was very impressive!

Good school for a dual immersion program. Children are completely bilingual in both languages.

My children have attended this school for the past 4 years. They have become passionate learners, often coming home exited, wanting to repeat a science experiment, or permission to participate in the Math-a-thon. Their German language skills are near-native, and particularly my daughter loves to learn Spanish and wants to expand her studies of Spanish during the middle-school years. Our school is very much enriched by the active role that parents play, both in the governance of the school and enriching the school's instruction. Our school asks that the parents please volunteer 5 hours per month, to be part of the community of learning and to help with the costs involved in being a charter school and an International Baccalaureate candidate school. There is music instruction in the classroom, an artist-in-residence program from the local museum, regular PE instruction as well as a wide array of after-school enrichment clubs. The accademic program is excellent!

My family couldn't be happier with AEACS. Both my 5th grade son and 1st grade daughter attend AEACS. The International Baccalaureate PYP Program, combined with the German Language Immersion component of the school provides my children with an unparalleled education. The teachers are phenomenal and are united under a single vision -- to provide an outstanding global education to every child.

AEACS has provided my child with many challenges that a public school could not. They do not hold back their children based on the 'No Child Left Behind' program. My child can move forward in her reading and math skills without interrupting other childrens progress. My child is nutured, supported and often times awarded for her progress. Let's see a City School do that. I could not be happier with AEACS.

This school is wonderful! Great teachers and excellent familes. Einstein Academy provides a superior education to it's students. My daughter loves going to school every day. She has learned to read and write in two languages with ease; not only master the languages, but also the material. The other children and familes are involved in the school and the learning process as well. How lucky we are to have a school such as Einstein. Parents travel from all over San Diego to bring their kids here.

My daughter is in first grade and a few months ago she started to speak german. I like the academic standards and all the teachers are excellent. The parents are very involved with the school and it shows. The school just added fifth grade and eventually it will be K-12 grade. I couldn't be happier with the school and my son will start Kindergarten at AEACS this fall. We are all looking forward to it.

My child is in 2nd grade and I am very happy with the academic standards and language acquisition. My child enjoys showing his multiple language skills to other children he plays with and is teaching his younger sister. His teachers have really instilled a love of learning and pride in his abilities, I like that multiple languages are taught without sacrificing academic standards. Overall I am very happy with the administration, teachers, other staff and how willing everyone is to help and cooperate with each other and parents.
